Prince de Courthezon Cotes du Rhone Blanc 2017
This fresh-fruited, white Rhône discovery hails from a top cellar in the historic town of Courthézon (once governed by the Princes of Orange). Crafted by the highly acclaimed Thierry Ferlay, it sports a history of gold-medal wins from notoriously tough shows, like the Concours Général Agricole de Paris. And we think this latest release shows off every bit as much class as its predecessors.
To make Le Prince, Thierry selected three star local grapes grown in some of his favorite vineyards, during the great (but historically small) 2017 vintage. Grenache Blanc (65%) imparts roundness and rich, stone-fruit flavors to the blend, with Clairette (25%) adding body and Bourboulenc (10%) bringing lovely floral aromatics.
On the palate, look forward to vibrant flavors of white peach and apricot, underpinned by a refreshing mineral streak and a well-integrated finish. Delicious pairings include roasted cauliflower and pan-seared salmon. It’s also delightful on its own or with goat cheese.
A white of this class is a surefire way to impress guests. Don’t miss your chance to order – limited cases available.
