Fili Millesimato Prosecco 2017
When it’s time to celebrate, Italians choose Prosecco over Champagne every time – and “the Sacchetto family winery has a long history of making excellent Prosecco,” says The Independent Wine Review. Called “easy to drink and great value for money,” their regular, non-vintage sparkler was named the No. 1 bubbly for New Year's in London’s Sunday Express – and this is their top-quality vintage fizz.
Named for Filiberto Sacchetto, who founded the family winery just outside Venice nearly a hundred years ago, “Fili” is the handiwork of the talented Paolo Sacchetto. Made from premium Glera grapes, his 2017 vintage release is a delicious step up in quality from the regular, non-vintage release.
Pop the cork on this eye-catching bottle and look forward to layers of apple and lemon, with a delicate stream of slow-moving bubbles. Hand dinner party guests a glass as they walk in the door, and keep a well-chilled bottle by your appetizer spread, or on the table with seafood, light pastas and more. Or, enjoy in the form of a brunch-friendly Bellini (with a splash of fresh peach juice) or as part of Italy’s classic aperitivo, an Aperol Spritz (simply combine three parts Prosecco with two parts bitter-orange Aperol liqueur and a splash of club soda). Of course, it’s also delicious anytime on its own, or as the centerpiece of a festive toast.
